After canceling shows this past weekend, Nickelback was forced to announce more bad news. Frontman Chad Kroeger will need surgery to heal a cyst on his voice box, and all of the band’s tour dates through Sept. 4 are off.
According to a press release, Kroeger will be healed in time for Nickelback to pick up again on Sept. 30 in Helsinki, Finland, as its No Fixed Address tour enters a lengthy European leg through Dec. 7. Refunds for the canceled North American dates will be available at the point of purchase. Specific rescheduling plans were not announced, though the band says it is “expected to return to North America in 2016.”
“I am sorry I have to interrupt the party this summer and I am definitely not thrilled with the prospect of being silent for many weeks to come when I could be out there playing for our fans,” Kroeger said. “I am relying on my doctor and his team to help get my voice back in good form as quickly as possible.”
