Prince has confirmed that his new studio album, HITNRUN, will be exclusive for Jay Z’s music streaming service Tidal.
The new album, which has been described as “experimental” by his band, took 90 days to record and package up ahead of its release.
With the new artwork being released for Prince’s 33 studio album, he revealed that he chose Tidal because of Jay Z’s passion for “real musicians”.
Prince turned his favour to Tidal earlier this year after taking down all of his music from Spotify, with the exception of Stare that was released in late July.
He has previously been vocal about his decision to withdraw his music from streaming services, claiming that it was down to the low royalty payments.
Prince, who teamed up with co-producer Joshua Welton on HITRUN, will drop the album on September 7th.
