Prince

As he prepares to release his 35th studio album HITNRUN, Prince invited the New York Post to his Paisley Park estate for a chat. Among the topics discussed: why it’s a bad time for music.

Interestingly enough, Prince’s comments have nothing to do with economics or record labels — though he has been critical of those things in the past. Instead, Prince takes issue with the lack of creativity.

“There might be music that sounds like me, but what good is that? You’re essentially in the feedback loop. It’s a bad time for music in general. There’s not a lot of pop music in the mainstream that makes you feel scared, that makes you wonder what’s happening.”
