Blink-182

Rockers Blink-182 have postponed two of their Las Vegas residency shows as drummer Travis Barker is suffering from blood clots.

The All the Small Things hitmakers, which also include Mark Hoppus and new member Matt Skiba, were due to perform at the Palms Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas on Friday (15Jun18) and Saturday nights as part of their Kings of the Weekend residency.

However, they took to Twitter on Thursday night to issue a statement in which they revealed Travis hadn’t been given permission to perform by his doctors due to blood clots in his arms.

“Friends, Travis Barker is suffering from blood clots in both arms and unfortunately cannot perform until cleared to do so by his medical team,” the statement read. “The situation is currently being closely monitored. Due to this situation it is with great regret that the blink-182 ‘Kings of the Weekend’ Las Vegas residency dates this weekend must be rescheduled.”

They also shared a quote by Travis, 42, who said, “Drumming is my life and It kills that i can’t perform for you guys this weekend. I hope to be back as soon as I can (sic).”

The trio launched the residency in May (18), and they were set to perform across three consecutive weekends in June. However, it is not known if Travis will be signed off to perform on 23 and 24 June.

They will then enjoy a big break before returning to the resort’s Pearl Concert Theater for four more sets of weekend shows across October and November.

When they announced their residency in March, singer Mark joked, “When the Palms asked us to do a residency here in Vegas, we said ‘Absolutely!’ Now, we just have to cast our show girls, create our set list – a true throwback of Vegas classics with Sinatra, Liberace. Maybe we can even marry someone on stage…The possibilities in Vegas are endless.”
