The Foo Fighters have joined a number of other acts in canceling tour appearances in France and other areas of Europe in the wake of the Paris terrorist attacks.

The band announced the cancellation of the remaining four stops on their European tour by saying:

It is with profound sadness and heartfelt concern for everyone in Paris that we have been forced to announce the cancellation of the rest of our tour,” Foo Fighters wrote in a statement. “In light of this senseless violence, the closing of borders, and international mourning, we can’t continue right now. There is no other way to say it. This is crazy and it sucks. Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone who was hurt or who lost a loved one.

The dates that have been removed from the schedule are tonight’s show at Pala Alpitour in Torino, Italy, a Monday night show at the AccorHotels Arena in Paris, Tuesday at Halle Tony Garnier in Lyon, France and Thursday night at Palau Sant Jordi in Barcelona, Spain.

Lauren Nault, a Foo Fighters fan, posted about traveling from Canada to France to see the band and her experience on Friday night at the Eagles of Death Metal concert in Paris:

Dave! We saw you in quebec city in july, and after 4 songs the show got canceled after a crazy storm. My boyfriend and i traveled all the way from Canada just to see you play again in Lyon France in a few days. We literally bought the tickets, THEN plannrd a trip. We were at the bataclan during the eagles of death metal show last night, and managed to get out because we were near an emergency exit to the left of the stage. Just wanted to share. We traveled across the world to see you play. Foo fighters are my favourite band of all time.
